Mama Rosie's Tips
mama rosie said...
So glad to see this blog up and running again - good luck and happy losing to you all. Remember to move, eat lots of salad, drink lots of water and it will be that piece of cake you shouldn't eat.

What to eat for breakfast?
Fat Is Wackers, for breakfast choose whole grains like a hearty McCann's oatmeal or a high-fiber cereal like Kashi GoLean or Heart to Heart. Remember to aim for a cereal with five grams of fiber or more per serving.
A nice amount of fiber will help keep energy, blood sugar and hunger levels stable throughout the morning.
Choose unsweetened flavors to skip excess sugar and calories. Top with fresh berries or banana slices and a touch of honey for some natural sweetness and an antioxidant boost.
Sprinkle a tablespoon or two of ground flaxseed meal or chopped walnuts into cold or hot cereal or mix into a yogurt-fruit parfait for a satistying shot of healthy omega-3 fats.

Put Your Money Where Your Girth Is
There was a story on NPR this morning that I found relevant to our weight-loss efforts. A law professor who was tired of constantly re-gaining weight he had lost hired a student to nag him (so his wife wouldn't have to). He also starting betting money on his weight loss and has now developed a website for tying money and contracts to personal goals. It's stickK.com ("stick" as in "stick to it" and an extra K probably for the customary law school abbreviation for "contract").
